Research Information Development of isolation techniques on koi herpesvirus

Plan Year: 2005
The purpose of this project is to develop a cell line of koi and establish the technique for isolation of koi herpesvierus. Organs of Koi are dissected aseptically, digested with trypsin, cultured with different growth media at different temperatures. After forming the monolayer, the primary cells wil be subcultured continuously. The stable cell lines can be used to isolate the Koi herpesvirus and determine the temperature and conditions for isolation. The result of this project can be used for developing new diagnostic methods and vaccine for control.
