Summary

An experiment was carrini out to test the safety and potency of the Lapini2’ed Hog Cholera and the Crystal Violet Hog Cholera Vaccines recently userl in Paraguay. The result were summari as follow:

Safety tesis for 5th Lapinil Hog Cholera Vaccine and Crystal Violet Hog Cholera Vaccines were satisfactory. Two pigs for each kind of vaccine were frccWatl with 10 doses4ag of resjntive vaccine, No any clinical sign (indwiing fever reaction) was ohserverl during the experimental period. LapiniJ Hog Cholera Vaccine incoilatel pigs were challenged with l0”5 MU) virulent blood of ALD stain at 10 days pzGtSummary vaccination. ALl pigs except pigs vaccinated with Crystal Violet Vwxine group A (See table 1) survived to the challenge.

Pigs vaccinated with one dose of Lapini2nd HOg Cholera Vaccine could stand the virulent Hog Cholera virus (10”MLD, ALE) stain) challenge at as early as 3 days post- vaccination, while those vaccinael with one dccc of Crystal Violet Hog Cholera Vaccine group B at 2 weeks gt-vaccination, and those vaccinatei with one dose of Crystal Violet Hog Cholera vaccine group A not until 4 weeks post-vaccination (See table 2,) Violet Hog Cholera vaccine group A not until 4 weeks t-vaccination (See table 2.)
