This subject is to establish a GenBank composed of partial or complete genomic sequences from different animal pathogens found in Taiwan. This GenBank will contain a high capacity computer with several soft programs using to perform various analyses. The major software is the Sequence Retrieval System (SRS) directly integrating into several hundred Flatfiles and XML bio-data banks. The high capacity computer will contain a 3.2 GHZ CPU and 5 soft disks with 146 GB. In the fist year, we will collect the nucleotide sequences derived from pig pathogens, which were published in GenBank or isolated from Taiwan. These pig pathogens will be retrieved from our institute or shared from other institutes or schools. In the second year, we will collect the sequences from avian pathogens. Importantly, in the GenBank containing software will support the platform for analysis of nucleotide sequence and protein functions.
