2019 Experience Exchange on Prevention Techniques and Training Course of Diagnosis of Classical Swine Fever

The OIE reference laboratory of classical swine fever (CSF) of Taiwan was delegated in OIE 85th annual meeting in 2017. In order to provide technical assistance and consultation for the diagnosis and monitoring of CSF in the OIE member countries, it is necessary to continuously study the innovative diagnostic techniques of CSF to fulfill the obligation of our reference laboratory for classical swine fever. To this purpose, the workshop of 「Experience Exchange on Prevention Techniques and Training Course of Diagnosis of Classical Swine Fever」was held in Animal Health Research Institute during 19-20 November, 2019 in Taiwan. A total of 123 participates attended. The training course contained three sections:「The experience sharing of CSF diagnosis and control」, 「Classical swine fever outbreaks in Japan in 2018-2019」 and 「The CSF vaccine development」. The experts of OIE CSF reference laboratory from Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, Japan and Taiwan were invited. The exchange and training of diagnostic techniques of CSF will effectively strengthen and enhance the diagnostic ability of classical swine fever of OIE member countries to safeguard the safety of livestock industry worldwide.
