Summary

Nipah virus causes outbreaks of human and pigs in Malaysia and Shigapcxxe in 1998-1999. This via-us is amernker of paramyxovirus. Serological evidence and nwiscitide suences indica that the virus is closely related to Hendra virus found in Anstilia but less relati to other rnemburs of the family Paramyxovirid. The host sreDtrums of Nipah virus includes human, pigs, dogs and cats, Virus can bu transmittal from pig to pig and other susceptible sjaies. Human-to-human transmission was not dccumen1. Fruit but axe the natrrai reservoir of this pathogen. The clinical features of Nipali virus infottion in human include fever, headache, diiness, vomiting, raluced level of consciousness and neurological disorders with a mortality rate of 40-50 %. Nipali virus mainly affected respiratory and nervous systems but most infections were subclinical in pigs. The diagnostic techniqnes of Nipali virus infection include isolation of virus, immuncchemical staining, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorkent assay.
