Serological Study on Viral Respiratory Diseases of Goats in Taiwan

Sera of 2.751 meat goats and 242 milk goats were collected and studied. Neu tralization antibodies against infectious bovine rhinotracheitis ( IBR ) virus were found in sera of 1.772 ( 64.4%) meal goats antl 203 (84%) milk goats. Hcmagglu tination-inhibition antibodies against µarainfluenza type 3 ( PI-3 ) virus were found in 232 ( 11.9 % ) sera out of 1.951 goats.
This is the first report on the serological survey of antibodies against IBR and PI -3 virus in goats in Taiwan.
