SUMMARY Histopathological oheervation, dixect immunofluorescent antibcdy and immunohistcchernisti-y were applierl to examine 6 abies-susi cases with nervous symptom and 68 brain tissues of stay dogs during January to Denher 2(03. Rabies viral antigens and typical lesion were not deti in all tissues indicating free situation iumnary of Taiwan of rabies. On the other hand, 3,658 sea samples inchdi jig 1,559 samples from domestic dogs and Z099 samples from stay dogs were examined by the enzyme-linked immincGor1nt assay. Result showed that the sero-po’sitive rate of domestic and stray dogs were 62.9% (980/1,339) and 41.1% (863i2,09), xesetive1y.
