Research Information Establishment and application of residual analysis methodology on veterinary antibiotics in livestock and aquatic products

Plan Year: 2004
The residual veterinary antibiotics in livestock and aquatic products are under stringent regulation and surveillance among global nations. The analytic techniques on residual veterinary antibiotics are mostly for detecting specific drug entity and with complicated extraction and analysis procedures. The proposed project focuses on establishing microbiological analysis method for screening the residual veterinary antibiotics in livestock and aquatic products. By investigating the presence and size of antibiotic inhibition ring on susceptible bacteria plate, the established microbiological analysis method herein the project can be successfully applied to verify large-scale livestock and aquatic products either without or with residual veterinary antibiotics, and as well can become an efficient routine analysis method for high-throughput screening large-scale specimens.
