Research Information Development of diagnostic kits based on CSFV E0 and E2 antigens expressied by Baculovirus

Plan Year: 2005
Classical swine fever is an important disease of pigs because of the highly contagious infection and mortality. The causing agent is classical swine fever virus (CSFV) belongs to the Flaviviridae. There are three glycoproteins Erns, E1 and E2 on the envelope, and the E2 glycoprotein induces major neutralizing antibodies. Application of Sf9 insect cells infected by recombinant baculovirus contain the E0 or E2 genes expressing the E0 or E2 glycoproteins to develope diagnostic kits. The new kits will replace the virus isolation and fluorescent antibody detection for cryosection on clinical classical swine fever cases.
