Research Information Development and commercialization of diagnostic kits for nucleic acid detection of swine and avian influenza virus

Plan Year: 2006
The aim of the project is to develop and commercialize the DNA-chip diagnostic kit for subtyping swine and avian influenza virus H1, H3, H5, H6, H7, H9 and N1 subtypes. The multiplex RT-PCR diagnostic kits for detection of H5N1 subtype of avian influenza virus also were developed. The design of specific primers for RT-PCR was based on the nucleic acid sequences of M, H1, H3, H5, H6, H7, H9 and N1 gene taken from the GenBank. The specific probes were spotted to the DNA-Chip and the mutiplex RT-PCR products were interpreted by the hybridization pattern. The efficacy of the diagnostic kits was evaluated by testing field samples.
