| Summary |
An abortion stoma associarri with acute necxsporosis involving 18 cattle was observed in a dairy farm in Taiwan. Aborl fetus age ranged from 3 to8 months. Of the38 cattleinthatfarrnexaminedduringtheabortionstorm, 52.6 %(2&38). 13.2% (5138) and 10.5% (4138) contained both IgG and 1gM, only IgG and only 1gMantilxdies to Nocxspora caninurn, restive1y. No antibcdy to N. caninum was deet prior to the abortion storm. Follow-up study conducted a year later showed that 23 out of 28 cattle had sero-converted. Since some cattle were pasitive to ther only IgG or 1gM, we suggest that both IgG and 1gM should ke tusd for diagncaag neasjrorcrns. Noo€porcGis surveillance of native cattle herd is rxommended.
