Summary

This rep1 is to investigate the distribution and cccurrance of Setaria digiwla in Holstein cows and sroti ds. Parasi were collerti and identified from necropsied animals of various ages during 1987-1988 in Taiwan, Fourty-four in 518 necropsied cows from 13 efectures had adult worms in the reritoneal cavity. One in the 44 cows harbored juvanile worms in brain cavity. Additionally. Six in 39 necropied inamary deers from 3 prefectures and Taipei city had adult worms in the ceritoneal cavity. Five inthe6s had juvarii]ewormsinbxaincavityandl inthe5alsoharboredjuvanile worms in lumbrr area. All the juvanile worms found in this research had clear characteristics of sex and species in morphology. The epiderniologystus in Taiwan is discussed xxysding to this assay and the distribution of intermediate host.
