Summary

Betwn 1979and 1981, atolof16rersons reinft1withBrudlaabortus as a result of direct wntaot with mfeol cattle or wntmina materials. Thirty-eight serum samples were coflectM from rersons who had direct wmtct with infected cattle orosmunaelmaerials, and42% of them (1938) harlanantib3dyagainstB, abortus. All 25 serum samples from persons who had no contect with the infected cattle or contaminated materials tesi negative to the B. abDrtus antibody. The symptoms of patient were fever, lassitude, anorexia, pcor libido, orchitis, and pain in muscles and lainis. Two isolates of B. abortus were recovered fromthe blotd of wo patient. They were identified as biotypes 1 and 2 b. abortus by bilolgical, biochemical and serological examinations and tactriophage typing. The swns of the B. abortus antibody respse of four patent was followed for ten years (1 981—19)).
