Summary

PrV-ThL virus, an isolate from the island, was propagted in PK-13 cell line and inactivatei by ultiaviolet light. Vaccine was then weraxeI using DEAE-Dexixan as adjuvantThgowith4andll weeksorageweieusedtoevalathecyofthe vaccine, the geometric mean neutralization anti&dy titer of 4 and 11 weeks old pigs twoweks afkeranarnnestiveshotwexe 1:3’7and 1:25 respectively. Allofthendidnot show any clinical signs and survived only with mild febrile reaction when challdged with 1(Y7.O TCID virus intranasally. On the other hand, Pregnant sows in the field trial fallowal normal and healthy piglet following challenge.
