Summary

Bovine letkemia virus (BLV) has tn isolated from cattles in Taiwan. This virus infects B lymphcxDyte and causes n&cplastic diseases. Normally this virus is detectui by agar gel immunodiffusion (AGE)) or ELLA assays, We have performal the Suiwnary polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify srthfic DNA fragment of BLV. Fiftytwooutof 120(43.33 %)cattlewerediagnc6eipcGitivebyPCR,and34outof 120 (28.33 %) cattle were diagnosed positive by AGE). PCI. method has been demonstati tote more sensitive than AG!!) in detective BLV.
