Summary

Antibcdy response in Brucella suis (Strain #68 incculael pigs was determined by means of agglutination and complement-fixation test. The agglutination antihcdy was firstly detected at one week rcstinccu1ation, reaked at 5-9 weeks P.1. (with level of 1:80-1:1O))andlaseluntil2Oweeks P.Lorevenlonger.TheCFantibcdycannotke detected until3 weeks P.1, The level reacher! reak atlweeks P.1., and also maintained up to2Oweeks P.1 orlojiger.

Testis swelling was okerveri in the iJiCCuIatJ pig? week P.1. , and markable atrophy Summary noted 19 weeks P.1. The bacteria could ire recoverer! from the testis when the pig neaopsied at 22 P.1. During the rericd 1979-1980, 8319 serum samples were colbtl from pigs in 13 counties, and subi to plate agglutination test against Brucella suis. Six hundred and seventy-four out of the 8319 samples were pcitive (1:80) in the plate agglutination test, and 615 out of the 674 were subztoi to tuke agglutination (TA) and CFts. Ninety-one (14.8%) of themhadthetiter 1:30, and34(5.5%) of them 1:40 (UflMintheTAtest, whileallofthemwerenegativeinCFtest Thedatasuggesti thatserawithlevelofantibcdyatovel:40(IIDOIU) intukeagglutinationtestand positive(l:5)inCFtestmaykeconsider&as pcxsitiveinthedisease.
