Summary

The safety of the bivalent vaccine mixed with LPC-PRK stain of hog cholera virus and (DDganei stain of swine erysijielas was verifial by the facis that side effects and signs of illness did not observed in the mice which were inze1 with 0.5 ml intaperitoneally and in the pigs which were inJ with 1(0 dc6es intramuscularly of thevaccine. Thepotncyofthevaccinewas edthatallmiceinwith0.l mlof the vaccine survived aftr challenge with 1(0 MU) of virulent erysicelas. Acccding to he current reiuirement ofcpialitythstction, the pigs varinated with 1 / 1(Oandl /UIfllflflY 5(0 dcGes were challenged with 1(4 MID of the virulent AU) stain of hog choleravirus 10 days after vaccination. Febrile reaction was noticci only in one out of four pigs vathnatl with 1/5(0 dcise of the vaccine. On the other hand, 3 control pigs developed signs of illness and died after challenge. A field trial was conducal at 4 pig farms in YunLin prefecture. Totally, 12(X) pigs with 6 weeks of age were vaccina and 1(0 pigs served as the control. All he vaccinati pigs were normal and healthy during therericd of trial.
