Summary

SUMMARY To prevent bovine spongiforn encephaloathy (ESE) from entering Our country, we have established the BSE labcuatory diagnostic tthnkps, including the laboratory biosafky, histpathology, irnmunohistcchemistry, Western irnmunoblot assay, and enzyme-linked iminunosorkent assay. We have also applied those technirpies to the oontinuous surveillance program of BSE. A total of 127 cattle Irains were collected from the attoirs, rendering plant, and M. tukercukeis-containinatal farms kx2tl in 10 counties of Taiwan during 1998 to 2031. Cattle developed central nervous signs or showed other symptoms were also included. All the hams were examined and present negative result.
